Our very popular teacher, Jerry Carleton, uses the Club computer and projector, projecting the instructions on a huge screen so that all the students can see how a particular problem should be solved.

The workshops continue to be very popular.  They are held regularly on Mondays in the Shasta Room at Del Valle Clubhouse.  PC workshops are from 1 PM to 3 on the second and fourth Monday of the month.  Beginner workshops are held on Wednesdays from 10 am to noon.  Sue Smith and Chuck Howard conduct the Monday workshops.  Their step-by-step printed instructions about E-mail and the Internet have been very helpful to members who are using Majornet as their ISP.

All workshops are Free and open to all residents.  The Computer Club pays the expense, but the real work is done by Club volunteers who set up the equipment, sign up new members, provide information about classes and help out where needed.  Volunteers are the essence of the Computer Club.

This past year was a relatively good one.  We survived and we even made some progress. Club programs and activities, computer classes and workshops, all focus on the goal of helping seniors to use and enjoy computers. It is very gratifying to see that the successful efforts of our Club officers,  teachers and volunteers, are appreciated.

For the year 2003 we intend to continue working toward this important goal. When the new Gateway building is completed, we will move the e-mail room into the new building and then be able to provide more and better services to more people.
